Warranty information

1. General Warranty Disclaimer

Except as expressly stated in this section, all products, services, and installations provided by DPS Renewables are supplied on an “as is” and “as available” basis. DPS Renewables makes no other warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Any warranty coverage described herein is limited to the specific terms and periods stated and is subject to compliance with installation, usage, and maintenance requirements.


2. Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems Warranty

2.1 Solar PV Modules

Solar photovoltaic modules supplied by DPS Renewables may be covered by manufacturer warranties, which typically include:

  • A workmanship and material warranty of up to ten (10) years; and

  • A performance warranty of up to twenty-five (25) years, subject to gradual degradation limits defined by the manufacturer.

Performance and product warranty coverage is strictly subject to manufacturer terms, conditions, exclusions, and performance thresholds as stated in official product documentation.

2.2 Solar Inverters

Solar inverters supplied by DPS Renewables are generally covered by a standard manufacturer warranty of five (5) years, unless otherwise specified in writing.

Extended warranty options may be available depending on inverter model and manufacturer policies. DPS Renewables does not guarantee availability of extensions unless expressly purchased.


3. EV Charging Solutions Warranty

3.1 EV Charging Equipment

Electric vehicle charging stations and related hardware supplied by DPS Renewables are provided with a limited warranty of up to two (2) years from the date of delivery or installation, covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.

DPS Renewables reserves the right, at its discretion, to repair, replace, or substitute defective equipment with equivalent models.

3.2 Installation Workmanship

Where installation is carried out by DPS Renewables or its authorised installers, workmanship defects directly attributable to installation services may be covered for the same warranty period as the EV charging equipment.

Any installation performed by unauthorised third parties shall void any workmanship-related warranty claims.


4. Warranty Conditions

Warranty coverage under this Terms of Use is subject to the following conditions:

  • Products must be installed, operated, and maintained in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and applicable standards

  • Products must not be altered, modified, or repaired by unauthorised persons

  • Proof of purchase and product identification details must be provided

  • Defects must be reported within a reasonable period after discovery

Failure to comply with these conditions may result in warranty claims being denied.


5. Warranty Exclusions

The warranty does not cover damage or failure caused by:

  • Misuse, negligence, abuse, vandalism, or improper operation

  • Improper installation, relocation, or dismantling not authorised by DPS Renewables

  • Acts of nature, including but not limited to lightning, flood, fire, or extreme weather

  • Power surges, voltage irregularities, or electrical faults external to the equipment

  • Normal wear and tear, cosmetic damage, or consumable components


6. Warranty Claims Procedure

To initiate a warranty claim, users must:

  1. Notify DPS Renewables in writing within fourteen (14) days of identifying the defect;

  2. Provide valid proof of purchase, serial numbers, and a detailed description of the issue;

  3. Allow reasonable access for inspection, testing, or verification where required.

DPS Renewables may require the product to be returned or inspected before approving any claim. Transportation, access, or on-site costs may be borne by the user unless otherwise agreed in writing.


7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DPS Renewables shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including but not limited to loss of energy savings, revenue, data, or business opportunities arising from warranty claims or product performance.

The total liability of DPS Renewables under this warranty shall not exceed the original purchase price of the affected product or service.


8. Governing Law

This Warranty Information shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia, and any disputes shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts.

10. Refund Policy 

  • If a refund request is made before submission of the Solar Accelerated Transition Action Programme (ATAP) application or before installation is scheduled, the customer will receive a full refund of the deposit paid, less any applicable credit card processing fees.

  • If a refund request is made after the Solar ATAP application has been submitted or after installation has been scheduled, the refund will be net of any application fees, administrative costs, logistics charges, and applicable credit card processing fees that have already been incurred.

  • Once installation has commenced or has been completed, refunds will not be available.

  • Approved refunds will be transferred to the customer’s designated bank account within seven (7) to ten (10) business days.
